Contractual & Legal Basis
According to our Seller Terms & Conditions, you are required to ensure that your product listings comply with all applicable laws and regulations. You are also obliged to indemnify Avocadostore against any third-party claims resulting from your listings.
Under the German Price Indication Regulation (PAngV), the base price (e.g. €/kg, €/l, €/m, €/m², €/m³) must be clearly visible and displayed in close proximity to the total price.
You can find detailed instructions with examples for both manual product editing and CSV import below.
Manual Product Editing
Step 1:
Click on Edit Offer for any product that requires a base price.

Step 2: Does the product have multiple variants?
No, it’s a single product:
Enter the content amount on the right-hand side and select the corresponding unit.

Yes, the product has multiple variants:
Scroll down to the variants section, open each variant, and enter the content amount and unit separately for each one.

Step 3: After editing, don’t forget to click Update Offers to save all changes.
Attention!
The “Direct base price” option is no longer supported and cannot be used for new entries.
Even for existing products that still contain this old field, you must now fill in the content amount and unit fields to ensure that the system automatically calculates the correct base price when discounts or price changes occur.

The information in the outdated field is no longer sufficient and both content amount and unit are mandatory.
Step 4:
Perform a plausibility check on the product page:
Is the base price displayed visibly next to the total price, and does the unit match correctly?
Product Data Import (CSV)
Important:
The product data export/import only includes products that you have created in your shop. Offers for existing products (previously created on the platform) are not included in the export and must currently be updated manually in the backend.
Step 1: Export your current product data from your merchant backend.
Step 2: Open the product import file and add or fill in the following columns correctly:
content_amount(content quantity)content_unit(unit, e.g. ml, l, g, kg, m, m², m³)
Step 3: Check and re-import the updated file – the base price will be calculated automatically.
Step 4: Perform a plausibility check: Are the total and base prices displayed correctly?
Important Notes
Products requiring base prices:
This requirement applies especially to goods sold by weight, volume, length, or area.Matching units:
Ensure that the unit fits the type of product (e.g. kg/l for food or liquids, m/m² for fabrics or surfaces). Only then can the system calculate the base price correctly.Consistency for variants:
If your product has variants (e.g. different fill quantities), every variant must have a valid content amount and unit, otherwise the base price cannot be calculated for all variants.By-the-metre products:
Currently, there is no separate field in the system for entering base prices for products sold by the metre.
To comply with the legal price display requirements, please include the base price directly in the product title.
Examples:
Organic cotton fabric – natural (Price: €24.90/m)
Blue linen fabric – 100% linen (Price: €32.00/m)
Affected categories include:
Fabrics and textiles sold by the metre
Ribbons, cords, lace
Wallpapers or foils sold by length
-
Carpets or floor coverings sold per metre
Once a dedicated field for base price entry becomes available, we will inform you immediately.
Thank you for your attention and care in implementing these requirements!
